Description carrat-down

This makes A18 a climate smart solution by minimising the need for nitrogen fertiliser. Other benefits are rapid establishment, performance on variable soil types and gradients, and suitability for government specifications.

Environmental benefits

From the DoubleRoot range, AberLasting has been included as a hybrid clover variety in A18 to provide a self-sustaining, low-maintenance mixture that brings environmental benefits to highway verges, embankments and roundabouts.

The mixture establishes quickly on a range of soil types and provides rapid ground cover to prevent gully erosion and loss of soil onto road surfaces.

The high percentage of creeping grasses means the sward will stabilise gradients in the long term. We recommend that gradients of more than 3 in 5 utilise some form of geotextile to stabilise the bank whilst the sward establishes.
