A22 is a unique perennial ryegrass-based, low maintenance mixture. Fescues are inherently slower growing but have limited wear tolerance opposed to perennial ryegrasses which are hardwearing but generally quick to grow. Cabrio Ultra fine perennial ryegrass is highly rated for slow regrowth after mowing so A22 offers the best of both worlds, a low maintenance sward that is very hardwearing. Consequently A22 is one of our most popular and most commonly specified mixtures.
Create a fine friable seedbed down to 150 mm in depth. Carry out two equal sowings at right angles to each other and diagonally to main axis. Broadcast manually or use seed drill, rake level and roll. Ensure good seed to soil contact.
Are the roots deep rooted and rhyzomas is best to cut no lower than 50mm would it only need mowing once a month.

Thank you for your question. The root depth would depend on the seed bed, the Slender Creeping Red Fescue and Highland are stoloniferous. The cutting height for the mixture is between 20 - 50mm. If you cut at 20mm this would require cutting once a month, although this is dependent on climatic conditions.

Can you advise what soil types the A22 (Low Maintenance) tolerates?

Thank you for your question. A22 Low Maintenance can be used with most soil types with a PH from 5.5-7.0.
