Rather than simply selling you a bag of grass seed, a drum of fertiliser or a box of wildflower seed, our experienced team of amenity specialists are always on hand to offer real-world advice to help you get the most from your green space: whether you need help to choose the most appropriate grass or wildflower seed mixture, or need simple, easy to understand fertiliser and sward management advice, we’re happy to help. All our sales staff are FACTS (Fertiliser Advisers Certification and Training Scheme) qualified and are backed-up by our in-house team of plant breeders and seed cleaning, testing and packing specialists who work hard to make sure the seed you buy from Germinal is of the highest possible quality and purity. Our GB sales team provides specialist customer support and advice throughout England, Wales and Scotland, so no matter where you work, there’s a Germinal technical sales representative nearby.
Richard Brown - Amenity Sales Manager
Richard’s career in the amenity sector started at the tender age of 14 when he began working at a Lincolnshire plant nursery. He subsequently left school at 16 to work in the landscaping sector in the northeast of England before going to university to earn a degree in horticulture. He then went on to work on a turf farm before working for two years in Australia. Richard joined Germinal in 2002 and, with a wealth of sector-specific experience, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our amenity business: from working with growers to plan the production of UK-grown grass seed crops, to liaising with the breeding programme at IBERS (Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences) and overseas seed breeders. Richard also oversees the wider amenity sales team, making sure they have all the support they need to enable them to meet their customers’ needs.
Sandy Pentecost - South East England
Sandy joined Germinal in 2009 and is our technical sales representative for the southeast of England. He left school at the age of 16 to take an apprenticeship in greenkeeping before obtaining the necessary college qualifications to enable him to become a golf course manager. He has previously run his own sportsturf maintenance business, looking after a variety of football, cricket, golf and tennis facilities as well as numerous private gardens. In 2005 Sandy decided he was ready for a change and took the plunge into amenity sales, initially selling specialist soils before moving into fertilisers, chemicals and grass seeds. Sandy has three decades of experience working within both the practical and business sectors of the amenity industry, is a vastly experienced grass seed expert.

Paul’s specific field of expertise is golf course maintenance, an area for which he has built up a good reputation and is respected for his knowledge and practical advice.
