Description
A vibrant display of colours created from a collection of cultivated annual species. This mixture is ideal where there is no requirement for UK native species on sites where they pose no risk to colonising natural habitats. Perfect for use on urban roundabouts or on derelict brown field sites where temporary colour is required. Â
If sown from late March to late May then assuming adequte moisture and warmth this mix should flower after 60-80 days. Supplementing many of our standard grass and wildflower mixtures with annuals is a good way of providing first season colour to wildflower sowings that have to be done in March - June. I.e. when sowing WFG6 in late May at 5 g/m2 you could supplement with WF17 at 1 g/m2 to ensure a floral display in mid-August to September, therefore providing some display where ordinarily the first notable flowering from the perennial species in WFG6 would be the following year once the mixture had estabilshed.
The inclusion of some domesticated species extends the flowering period of this mixture with the earliest flowers appearing in Late March, this does however depend upon favourable temperatures early in the year; in cold Springs, flowering will occur later.
A mix of native and non-native annual flowers including Flax, Cornflower and Cosmos.
